Policy Commissions
About the commissions
Following Labour’s victory at the 2024 General Election, a new cycle of the National Policy Forum was launched in January 2025. We are now in the second year of that cycle.
The Labour Government was elected on a promise of change: to deliver a decade of national renewal and put the country back in the service of working people. Our 2025 consultation looked at ‘Fixing the Foundations to Deliver Change’, consulting on the milestones in Labour’s Plan for Change.
2026 is the year that Britain gets back on track and that renewal becomes real. Many of the policies that are going to make a real difference to people’s lives this year came from the work of the National Policy Forum.
This year, the focus moves firmly to delivery, looking at Labour’s delivery of a decade of national renewal to support the Labour Government and look ahead to future challenges.
The six policy commissions reflect Labour’s missions. The consultation documents set out in further detail what each commission will be looking at this year.
In the face of the toxic division being peddled by other parties, we need to work together to stand up for unity so we can continue delivering the change our country needs. Play your part by contributing to the National Policy Forum.

The 2026 consultation runs from 5 March to 11 June 2026 and focuses on delivering national renewal.
During this period, each policy commission is holding events and discussions with members, affiliates, stakeholders and experts to inform the development of the Labour Party’s policy platform.
