Build an NHS fit for the future

About the Commission

Bringing care closer to you is central to Labour’s renewal of the NHS. This year, the Build an NHS Fit for the Future Commission is focusing on how we shift more care out of hospitals and into neighbourhood settings, so people can access high quality support closer to home.

Guided by the 10 Year Health Plan, this consultation will explore how neighbourhood health services can strengthen general practice, integrate health and social care and deliver more personalised and preventive care in our communities. We will also examine how digital and AI enabled tools can improve access and make services more productive.

After years of decline under the Conservatives, Labour is rebuilding the NHS for the long term. By organising services around patients’ needs and expanding care in local communities, we will deliver a modern health service that is there for you when and where you need it.
