Policy Commissions

Fixing the foundations to deliver change.

About the commissions

In 2024, following the General Election, we launched a new cycle of the NPF along with six new policy commissions.

The Labour government was elected on the promise of change – to deliver a decade of national renewal and put the country back in the service of working people.   We inherited unprecedented challenges, with crumbling public services, crippled public finances and global instability fuelling domestic insecurity.

The public are hungry for change: ordinary working people want more security in their lives and a country that is on its way back up again. The Labour Government’s Plan for Change sets six milestones for mission-led Government that working people can feel by the end of this Parliament.

The six new policy commissions reflect Labour’s missions; they will focus on Labour’s priorities for government and future challenges on our way to delivering our long-term missions and a decade of national renewal.

Security and renewal are our twin tasks – and we must deliver them.
