About the Commission

Boosting economic growth to raise living standards is the number one mission of our Labour Government. This year, the Kickstart Economic Growth Commission is focusing on how we bring back pride in our communities by backing local economies, high streets and neighbourhoods that were neglected for too long.

This consultation will examine how we deliver meaningful devolution, empower local leaders and support communities to become engines of growth. We will also look at implementing the Make Work Pay plan, strengthening workers’ rights, supporting businesses to thrive and ensuring growth is felt in every part of the country.

After years of stagnation and underinvestment under the Conservatives, Labour is creating the stable foundations for sustained growth. By combining economic security with opportunity and fairness, we will boost productivity, back working people and restore pride in communities across Britain.
